An independence day to tell the story of ISRO and women in it. Akshay Kumar has done a good job with his role. This movie depicts the hardships of scientists of ISRO in the light of a complex mission. There is a bit of drama in this movie to evoke patriotic feelings. Overall a good movie lifting the patriotic feelings in us.
This movie is such an awesome movie. It was so interesting and teaches many good things about life. I suggest that every person see this movie.I really appreciate it. I really loved this movie. Casting was perfect and that adds to the movie.
This movie was amazing - it tells about a very important mission performed by ISRO. This movie is motivating and it is based on true story and that is amazing. All actors in this movie were awesome. Akshay Kumar is such a brilliant actor. You must watch this movie guys. You won't regret watching this movie.
"Mission Mangal " movie is based on Indian space agency "ISRO" mission to mangal. The movie tells the struggle that the mission mangal team has faced. Movie is nicely plotted with an inspiring story. I suggest everyone to go and watch the movie with your family and friends.
The movie was amalgamation of daily lives of different Indian women and the hardship of a scientist. It portrays what the high skilled witty scientist has to go through just like the similar hurdles as every Indian housewives and the art of balancing work and family. Secondly the movie summed up the the spacial logic in layman term to be understood by viewers, the isro scientist struggle with the targets and mission only to make our country proud. Last but not the least the proud Mission On Moon was the delicious flavour that was spread in the entire movie. It's a perfect 15th August movie to be watched on big screen with your family
The movie has tried to portray the Hindu community in bad light and should essentially be banned right away. Pretty awful otherwise also. The characters don't come across as scientists at all and ISRO should strongly object to the way these characters have been portrayed.
Very dynamic & assertive movie which is overwhelming and appealing. Movie which not only indicates that will and focused mind can achieve anything and everything but also generates tremendous amount of positive energy around you and your team mates. Akshay has proved this with the role and has lead the role quite brilliantly. All the female cast has out shined as well. Worth watching !!
Went to watch it with high expectations and excitement...but was highly disappointed. Such a noble & sensitive theme..is messed up with stupid and forced humour. Unnecessary scenes of hindu muslim religion is another loop hole..Insult of Hinduism and muslim propaganda having scenes which have no relevance to the theme and the cringe is unbearable.. Vidya balan shines but again the twisting of facts is a big let down. Expected a story of science, struggle and scientists but the family drama forced in sucks.
I feel this is basically an insult to Indian audience by trying to act like it's a science movie based on real incident, woman empowerment and what not just to release it on Indian Independence day to emotionally provoke people to watch it and not to be critical towards your own knowledge, practicality & wisdom. It's in a way insult to both ISRO, their mission and film making over all because you are basically emotionally manipulating people to get tangled to drama, situation of being driven by nationalism mood, using the real story and release on a day where no one should question your action. Recipe for success shouldn't be defined by manipulating people emotionally.
Mission Mangal is all about the story of how the Indian space research organization scientists have successfully launched Mars Orbiter Mission with the limited available resources. While a FAT boy was a failed experiment of GSLV, the head of the Project is transferred to Mars mission which is actually scheduled in 2022. At this juncture the idea to launch Mars mission gets through lot of troubles. Finally the team makes it possible only with the available Rs400.Crore available to launch the Satellite and how did they made it successful by having lots of difficulties forms part of the story.
Don't expect the cinematic experience of exploring space like interstellar from this one. This film is one level up from a documentary and tells a very complex story in as much simplicity as possible. It is commendable to see how even after so many hurdles we were able to make the Mars mission a success! Acting by all the actors is great portraying work life balance, passion and how so many things are not in your hands with such things! :) All in all a great movie to watch once.
“Mission Mangal” is filled with such wink-wink payoffs for stealthily planted plot elements, and abounds with the sort of all-is-lost setups that screenwriting gurus suggest are mandatory before rah-rah third-act turnabouts. But here’s the thing: It’s hard to be dismissive of a formulaic narrative when filmmakers are adhering to such a potent formula .
If I want to compare any film with this one then I will choose another Akshay Kumar's flop film Joker which was totally nonsense. 1st half is complete headache. In 2nd half, only last 20 mins are good otherwise it's complete nonsense. WASTE OF MONEY! Go for Batla House instead!!
Mission Mangal based on true events is must watch for all Indians. It has little flaws technically but every Indian will feel proud at the end of the movie. It is a movie about the ISRO who make India to be first country in the world to go to Mars in first attempt. How they faced problems and stopped Chandrayaan 2 project and made mission mangal successful is the core of the movie. Acting wise I think all the actors did justice to their roles. 1 Song was not needed I think in the movie but they added it. Visuals are good and impressive. Every Indian should see this movie at least once.
Mission mangal is a movie about how indian scientists has successfully launched the satellite to explore Mars. however the main objective of the movie is diverted with the lots of personal story filled in the first part of the movie. Main story begins with the second part of the movie where the project of mars orbiter missions takes a lead. The movie could be better if there is less personal stories of the people than the actual life at the project. This has led the movie from being a science fiction to a commercial movie. the movie is watchable for having a bit of comedy in the routine story of the scientists life and it was shown the office or the project life to be more hectic than finding some fun in the same too.
Mission Mangal which is said to be inspired by true events is worth a watch and an inspirational movie. This movie is definitely a good movie for a person who is in search of inspiration. The movie deals with the scientists at a space research organization. How things turned from a brave step towards impossible stuff to a total failure with no one interested including the head of the institute due to lack of budget for the project. Later on how things turned positive from here to the place of launching the satellite to successfully landing on Mars is the story of the movie. Mostly every scene has its essence it needs and it did produce a good feel to the audience. It did show how the scientists can get inspired from their day to day life to get things done at dirt cheap prices and by taking all necessary precautions. Only the scenes of the movie that I found odd was the discussion of the project directors sons decision to convert his religion to achieve something in his life which never had a logic. Apart from this - the movie is worth a watch !!
Mission Mangal is inspired by true events. In my opinion, the movie is entertaining. Akshay Kumar & Vidya Balan hold the movie strong. It's a must watch for those who are unaware of this historic event. Firstly, though it is based on a serious event, the entertainment value it brings is high. Dialogues, Songs, Humour and Direction contributes to this. The story is shown very well. Secondly, the lead actors in Akshay Kumar & Vidya Balan have done a tremendous job. Akshay Kumar is at his best with his attitude, humour and acting. Vidya Balan seems to be a real life motivator and go-getter. Lastly, it's not to be missed by people who are unknown to this amazing achievement by India especially Indians. Since I belong to this category of public, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. In conclusion, I believe that this movie is a good watch for people enjoying true stories and love the presence of Akshay Kumar.
Akshay Kumar was the weakest link of the movie with his over the top hammering and overacting. Should have casted someone else cause it also felt like that the movie is more focused on making his character look good, compared to other characters and less focused on the mission to Mars. Akshay Kumar just put me off with everything he does, I'd rather watch the documentary on the mission, atleast that way I wouldn't be distracted by Akshay Kumar's big teeth, which is taking me completely out of the movie and ruining the moments.
MOM is one of our biggest achievement but this movie is a waste. There is something called 'RESEARCH' before playing a character and Akshay kumar badly needs it. Akshay kumar is on auto mode of making patriotic movies without any research about the character. Can't even imagine how badly akshay kumar ruined that character - utter nonsense. Movie is based on Science, but they are showing all the things except science, making switch off and on makes everything work, are you serious? Not even a single science word from Akshay kumar in whole movie. They simply want to make money by playing patriotic card. Better to watch Mars mission on Nat Geo rather than watching this movie.
MISSION MANGAL- In one word, the movie is just brilliant and skillfully planned so that it caters to all age groups. People regardless of age can definitely enjoy this space mission movie. The favourite bhool bhulaiya Jodi did not fail to impress it's audience even after so many years with it's well balanced comedy-reality gerned film. Well the overall movie is just amazing.
I can understand all the emotions attached to this historic true incident. Go n Watch Hidden figures.. Mangalyaan is a true incident which is not justified by this script with poor graphics in space scenes.. Don't eat people's money by delivering a cinema and attaching the patriotic tag. Drama was way way more than the facts.
I feel this is basically an insult to Indian audience by trying to act like it's a science movie, based on real incident, woman empowerment and what not just to release it on Indian Independence day to emotionally provoke people to watch it and not to be critical towards your own knowledge. practicality, wisdom. It's in a way insult to both ISRO, their mission and film making over all. Because you are basically emotionally manipulating people to get tangled to drama, situation of being driven by nationalism mood, using the real story, and release on a day where no one should question you action. Recipe for success shouldn't be defined by manipulating people emotionally.
Hats off to the movie !! Not even a single dull moment From start To finish. Story & Screenplay is the highlight. Perfect casting and absolutely stunned by the VFX. The story is narrated in both entertaining as well as facts driven. This will be perfect gift for the Independence Day & It will be a tribute For ISRO on completing 50 Years in Space Science. Please Go Watch Mission Mangal - Every Penny is Worth it - A must watch !!
For an analogy, it's basically enemy is singing national anthem in front of emotionally driven army who are hiding during the time of war and then enemy is shooting those who raise up their heads to respect the song. So anyone who are standing up in the situation emotionally driven will surely going to get a head shot not to think practically and logically is the whole case of this movie. This I would call as Charlie Chaplin syndrome. (Check youtube "Charlie Chaplin - Shoulder Arms (1918) - Shooting scene" you will get it) All in all, save your hard earned monies and don't waste it on Mission Mangal.
Popular star Akshay Kumar plays a senior scientist named Rakesh Dhawan who's losely based on Satish Dhawan the legendary leader who squarely takes the blame for failed mission, while in the face of success , pushes his entire team in front of the media as the people behind the success. Despite its predictability (i mean we all know how mangalyaan turned out) and the time tested formula of underdogs fighting all odds, proving sceptics and naysayers wrong and emerging victorious in the end, the film doesn't bore you. Some notable moments: Vidya Balan rightly telling her husband not to make her feel guilty by using her dedication to her career as an excuse. Applause there since this would be a situation faced by many an Indian "working" wife . Encouraging Eka (Sonakshi's character) to continue her independence wrt sex life. Though in real isro ppl are far more conservative and would never be as adventurous as Eka or discuss it openly. Army husband telling his scientist wife that her job too is service to the nation and many more.
The film is well directed from a critic standpoint. Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan is the heart of the film. But I feels like Vidya Balan gets more screentime and importance in the film. Tapsi and other do well as a supporting role. For me the story could have been better. I mean to say that it lacks original version of the story. Overall a good film with Drama, Action, Suspense and Good Acting.
A dream doesn't become reality through magic, it takes sweat, determination and hard work to make it come true. That's what Indian scientists at ISRO have gone through for the past five decades, leaving behind their personal lives, making their families second priority and propelling themselves into a pursuit of scientific achievement. One of the glorious chapters in their success story was the 2014 Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), more popularly called the Mangalyaan Mission. Against all odds, India became the first country in the world to break many space and Earth barriers and reach the distant planet in its first attempt. '
